Baker Lake

July 2nd, 2007

I’ve been to Baker Lake many times, but always on the eastern shore. The western shore is only accessible by boat and backpack. Wow. It’s a good thing that’s the only way to get there otherwise it would be even more crowded than it is.

It was just an overnight trip and since it took me 5 hours to get through the border I didn’t go to Maple Grove. A great trip and an easy hike. The huckleberries were abundant, the weather was warm, and at night here was no wind and it was relatively warm. The mosquitoes were swarming in some of the darker, damper parts of the shore but I stayed clear. Ovreall, a great trip.

Oh, and to the people who pull up their boats, party-camp all weekend, then take off and leave all their garbage lying around the campsite: You suck.

Seattlefest 2007

May 31st, 2007

Vixy and I decided to go down to Seattle for Memorial Day weekend. Sunday was chilly but otherwise the weather was nice. We did some of the usual touristy things (Space Needle, Pike Place Market, etc) but didn’t want to fill the weekend with too much. Mostly it was an excuse to hang out and drink and have fun.
